Saturday Enrichment
20th Mar 2012

The Saturday Enrichment Programme continues to provide the children with some fantastic opportunities to step outside of their comfort zones and broaden their horizons. Now in its second year, the variety and choice of activities has increased and over 95% of children in Years 6, 7 & 8 take part.

This term has seen children in Year 6 enjoying the chance to rehearse for their production of ‘Olivia’ or immerse themselves in a new and exciting website design and animation course – Nick Park watch out! The Year 7 children have enjoyed a variety of modules including a fascinating Farm Management course and Spanish Culture & Language (including a ‘Flamenco’ taster session!). They have also honed a number of skills whilst following a very practical four week programme comprising Communication Skills, ‘Brand Me’, an interactive introduction to ‘Money’ basics and a journey into social responsibility and the life of an Indian Orphanage. The Music Room has continued to ‘rock’ as the Year 8 children work with professional musicians Dominic Greensmith and Amy Newton and our photographers have achieved some fantastic results and have developed their practical, photoshop and editing skills immensely. A new Advanced Art module has enabled a selection of children to learn new skills and work with new materials alongside external specialist Melissa Tilley.
