Nursery and Reception EYFS

Our All Hallows Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Nursery and Reception classes occupy a fabulous position, side by side, in the heart of the school.  With dedicated indoor and outdoor space, our children enjoy a happy, calm and safe environment which is also stimulating and fun.

Our class sizes are small, really supporting the children's early learning and needs, allowing them to flourish. Making the most of the opportunities that arise by being part of a prep school, the children benefit from access to specialist teaching staff for subjects such as Music, Art, Forest School, Sports and Activities as well as access to the prep school resources and facilities.  These include our nine-acre onsite woodland for our Forest School, our LTA Tennis Academy, our Creative Design Centre, our swimming pool with a retractable cover and as well as music and other sports facilities.

The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum is centred on each child’s personal, social and emotional development; physical development and developing communication and language. As every child is unique their learning journey is tailored to engage with Mathematics, Literacy, Expressive Arts and Design and enhance their understanding of the world.

Our teaching is centred on a play-based curriculum, led by the interests of the children. This child-initiated play is supported by adult-led activities drawing upon specialist expertise - a combination which ensures the best possible outcomes using a holistic approach.

We work in partnership with you, as parents, to ensure your children develop and learn.  Each child has an online personal learning journey, which they love to share, and we encourage you to be involved in this journey as they prepare for life in the prep school.

We welcome children into the Nursery from the age of three and into the Reception class in the September when they are four years old.  The day runs from 8.25 to 16.05 and with early drop off from 8.00 and late pick up at 17.00 available at no extra cost for children in the Reception Class.  The Nursery children may be dropped off from 8.20 and late pick-up is offered up to 16.30 for an additional cost.
