Uniform and the Joining Process
Once you have accepted a place at the school you will need to know what happens next…
Buying the uniform
Our uniform shop is located on the school site and is open on a regular basis during the term time. Uniform may also be purchased via the online school shop. Please let Jackie, our Admissions Officer, or one of the other members of our administration team in The Hub (our school office) know when you would like to sort out your uniform. We can also arrange for access to the second hand shop at the same time.
The uniform list is published in our termly diary and is also available from Jackie on request.
Access to the school portal
We will give you 'new parent' access to our school portal. This will provide you with a wealth of information about day-to-day life at All Hallows. It will also allow you to verify the information we hold for you is accurate and to complete the various forms we require before your child joins us - see below.
Joining forms and instructions
We will need you to complete various forms including, most importantly, a medical form for your child and providing emergency contact details so we have up-to-date information in this respect. We ask for your prompt co-operation in completing these forms to allow all our staff to prepare for your child's arrival.
We will let you know what to do on your first day, or your first evening if your child is a boarder. If you have any questions at any stage, please do not hesitate to ask us. We are always happy to help.
The first day and beyond…
This is an exciting time. Unless your child is joining Nursery, Reception, Year 1 or Year 2, they will have a buddy or mentor who will help look after them during those first few days while they find their feet. Your child will meet up with their buddy either in the Reception area which we call ‘The Hub’ or we will walk over to their classroom to meet them there. Once they are settled, we can answer any questions you may have.
It may seem quite a while since you had a tour of the school and you may wish to familiarise yourself with key areas. We will happily arrange to give you a mini tour of the school to do this. It will include useful things such as where the sports kit bags are kept and where you can find your children if they stay late.
Don’t worry if there is too much information to take in on the first day! The staff in the Hub are always on hand to answer any questions you may have, to talk you through the way we do things or to help you access information on the parent portal. If in doubt about anything, please ask us.
The Friends of All Hallows
Your Class Rep will introduce themselves to you and tell you all about our lively parents’ association, the Friends of All Hallows (FOAH). They will be another great source of information and will be very happy to help and support you as you settle in to our community.
